Religion in Sirap

Religion in Sirap has both formal aspects and every day occurrences, as opposed to the surrounding states of Namora. Outside of Sirap, a citizen will be dedicated to a patron deity even if they are not a cleric or divine magic user. Within Sirap, although a citizen may have a favorite deity, they are more likely to engage in the traditions and celebrations of many. There are temples for some deities, but others are informal. Arcane temples will be found near the wizarding universities. Healing temples come in many forms, from large hospitals to naturalist gardens. The goddess of beer, Ninkasi, does not have any formal temples, but nearly every tavern and pub has an alter dedicated to her and toasts are raised in her honor for almost any occasion to drink. The neutral gods of death and rest are revered in the temples at cemeteries, for although they are not well loved, they are known as necessary and they are guardians of the dead. Travelers will find shrines at crossroads. Although Sirap is primarily human, there are clans of other races and each will have their own places of worship. It is not uncommon to find a human among these other races at a temple. It is very rare to find a non-worshipper in the land.
